Life has come to a halt in the last two years. We stand where we stood two years back in the lane. The same time frame from where the journey of this deadly disease (COVID 19) and its variant started. When will this disease be evacuated or its risk be minimized? This pandemic has changed our normal lives into a nightmare. People now live sleepless nights due to this pandemic. The world has suffered financially, physically, and emotionally during this prevailing pandemic.
People started living normally after the DELTA variant and vaccination doses. The delta variant has already given deadly Goosebumps to the whole world. A gap of six months and the world is flooded with cases of another variant named OMICRON. As most of us are aware of omicron variant again making our lives still and found in maximum countries of the world like UK, South Africa, Australia, France, Italy, etc. The media is flooded with all the updates related to this variant and its symptoms, causes, and precautions. We as sufferers are already been updated with necessary precautions for the last two years and we keep on adding new updates to our thinking caps. We have actually by hearted the norms of this disease.
Though this new variant has mild symptoms as per health professionals, the pace with which this variant spreads is much faster. Let’s discuss a few precautionary measures:
- WEARING MASK & SOCIAL DISTANCING: These two norms have become part & parcel of our life in the last two years. Though both of them were taken casually after two vaccination doses and DELTA variant, know they are very necessary. As this variant transmissible pace is very high, wearing a mask is again a necessity.
- SAY NO TO PARTIES/ CROWDED PLACES: We are at the party season corner of the year. We should avoid big parties and crowded places. Have a small get-together at your place with your family. Avoid crowds for a better tomorrow. Sufferers of previous variants should be more vigilant as their immune system had already gone for a toss.
- IMPROVING VENTILATION: Keep your home, workplace, and study area well ventilated. Try to breathe in the fresh air and keep your house germs-free and ventilated.
- WASHING/ SANITIZING HANDS: Washing hands or sanitizing hands has become a new mantra of life. Even a 5-year-old remembers to wash hands now and then. I have seen people with extra dried hands due to excessive washing and sanitizing. But this good habit needs to be continued.
- MAXIMUM VACCINATION: All citizens should get their vaccination doses done without any fail. Soon the vaccination for children between 15-18 years would be rollout. Parents should sincerely get it done for their children.
- GOVERNMENT ROLE: The government has been toeing since the advent of this deadly disease. Whether it was lockdown, curtailing of limits on gatherings, shutting of academic institutions, vaccination drives, etc., the Government has gone a long way. We as responsible citizens should also play our part.
