Cancer a deadly disease which raises Goosebumps even in hearing its name. It was the cause of maximum deaths in 2020, leading to 10 million deaths across the globe. Every year 4th of February is celebrated as World Cancer awareness day to raise awareness for its prevention, detecting it and then treating it. With increasing population across the globe, this disease is growing at an alarming rate. With environmental changes, packaged food, use of polythene, greenhouse effect, etc.; this disease is increasing. Few of the below stated tips help in prevention of cancer.
- DITCH TOBACCO: All the cigarrete packets and tobacco sachets have statutory warning of their harmful effects. Still millions of people indulge into it. Ditch your tobacco habits to help yourself from harmful effects of cancer. They can have worse effect on lungs, throat, stomach and even kidney.
- CUT DOWN THOSE EXTRA KILOGRAMS: Obesity increases your chances of cancer. According to a research, fat cells release certain substance, which increase the growth of cancel cells. This may increase risk of uterus, pancreas and gall bladder type of cancer.
- GO GREEN: A diet full of broccoli, kale, cauliflower and cabbage helps in damaging cancerous cell. Eating these vegetables is very easy and nutritional too.
- LIMIT YOUR ALCOHOL LEVELS: Consuming alcohol has become fashion mantra these days. Excess alcohol increases your risk of getting cancer. People should limit their alcohol drinks.
- INDULGE IN PHYSICAL EXERCISE: Do involve yourself in physical exercise to limit the risk of cancer. Exercising and physical exercise is beneficial in every aspect. It also helps in weight loss and maintaining a healthy body.
- LIMIT CONSUMPTION OF ADDED SUGAR & FATS: Avoid taking sweetened beverages, juices, tinned & packaged food. These food items add on weight and can make cancer causing germs active.
- PROTECT YOURSELF FROM UV RAYS: Skin cancer has become one of the most common form of cancer in today’s world. Avoid sitting directly in midday Sun and try to apply good sunscreen when going out during day time. Try to cover most of your body parts while basking in the Sun.
- PRACTICE SAFE SEX: Sexually transmitted diseases can also become cause of cancer in females. Do not practice sexual activities with multiple partners.
- GETTING SCREENING REGULARLY: We as conscious citizens should get medical screening and test done on regular basis.
